iGEMS, an education-to-employment initiative under the Unity in Africa Foundation, is a 4-phase programme that equips youth with the skills, mentorship, and industry exposure needed to thrive in engineering and technology—supporting their journey from school to tertiary studies, through internships, and into meaningful employment.

iGEMS is committed to equipping aspiring engineers with the knowledge, practical experience, and personal development skills needed to succeed. Our structured, multi-phase programme provides a pathway from high school to employment, bridging the gap between education and industry.

Through a dedicated learnership year at member companies, students gain hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the engineering profession. An induction programme in Phase 2 prepares them for the workplace, while ongoing maths and science bridging classes ensure they are academically ready for tertiary studies in Phase 3.

This charity has achieved a 8 Star rating on the Helpmore Trust Index, meeting 8 out of 10 trust criteria, including NPO registration, financial transparency, and independent governance.
