Small Things Foundation

The Small Things Foundation is a non-profit social development organisation based in Cape Town with a focus on uplifting at-risk youth. For 3 years we have focussed solely on the Local Surf Lounge Academy, and have taken them from ‘Critical’ to ‘Thriving’, and now shift focus to new charities needing some help.

We provide a transparent umbrella to help develop small NGO’s and build their programs and capacity. With a special focus on surfing, we take talented South African surfers to compete in international events, as well as consulting with Helpmore to reach a wide range of charities in the local sector.

The children of the Cape Flats are experiencing a major crisis of poverty, gangsterism, drug abuse, and violence in their daily lives, and we provide an essential lifeline to get them off the streets and focused on a healthier lifestyle.

Our secondary focus area is Education & Development through our mentorship and skills development programs, to provide our unskilled youth leaders (16-18yrs) with employment opportunities in the community.

This charity has achieved a 10 Star rating on the Helpmore Trust Index, meeting 10 out of 10 trust criteria, including NPO registration, financial transparency, and independent governance.
