Sinethemba Edu-Care

Sinethemba is a registered non-profit after-school care facility in Zwelethemba, Worcester. For the past 15 years, we’ve provided meals, safety, and education to vulnerable children, giving them not only a brighter today, but also hope for tomorrow
Our story started when Elizabeth, a retired community worker, opened her own home to orphaned, abused, and vulnerable children. Using her pension and small donations, she created a safe space where children could eat, learn, and heal.

In 2012, she was joined by Marie Botha, whose passion and support helped Sinethemba grow into the community project it is today.

Today, Sinethemba employs 9 local staff, cooks, teachers, gardeners, and a project manager.

Together, they provide hot meals, after-school care, and opportunities for 120 children every day.

This charity has achieved a 10 Star rating on the Helpmore Trust Index, meeting 10 out of 10 trust criteria, including NPO registration, financial transparency, and independent governance.
