Local Surf Lounge Academy

We are the Local Surf Lounge Academy in Muizenberg, Cape Town. We provide a surf-inspired safe space for disadvantaged youth to thrive as they grow into young adults. 7 days a week, 24hrs a day we walk hand-in-hand through life with our Youth-led program that feeds them, supports personal hygiene, coaches & guides them.

They inspire us, constantly pushing boundaries of what success means, no matter what background. Our Elite surf team is a proud feeder for WP surfing, competes at SA Champs and even Internationally on the Africa Surf Tour. Every year we are growing, offering more programs, more workshops, more life experiences. But we can’t do it alone, and with no government support, we rely on private individuals and small companies to back us and keep the program running.

This charity has achieved a 10 Star rating on the Helpmore Trust Index, meeting 10 out of 10 trust criteria, including NPO registration, financial transparency, and independent governance.
