About Selah Surf
Selah Surf is a group of passionate surfers and ocean lovers who want to see the young people of Ocean View live in their God-given potential. Selah is a Hebrew word and it means “to be still, dwell, and reflect”. Selah invites us to stop and consider what God has revealed in His Word, or how He is at work in our lives. God calls us to pause, step back, and reflect on what He is doing amid our busy days. Selah is an invitation to rest in His powerful peace.
At our surf program, we’re more than just teaching the youth of Ocean View how to catch waves – we’re investing in their future. Through surfing, we provide an opportunity for personal growth, building life skills, and fostering self-confidence.

Development of human beings and their community is a long term commitment.
We work in the community of Ocean View, Cape Town.
Mentorship
We identify young people who desire to be mentored and would benefit from our Surf Program. Our approach is slow and steady.
Lifeskills
We love our surfers deeply by being consistent and persevering even when it is tough. We use a combination of lifeskills, surf lessons and activities to grow together and bring our messages across.
Opening Pathways for the Future
From mentorship and coaching roles to career opportunities within the surf industry, participants gain valuable life skills and pathways that positively shape their futures.
